Best animal parks for kids at Las Cabanes holidays

Most kids adore becoming mini farmers, feeding our chickens and collecting their eggs. It really connects them with the nature all around them and they love nothing more than wandering back to their accommodation, clutching their basket of eggs in hand.

If your kids want even more animals then we have 3 great recommendations for animal parks in the local area.

Our top spot deservedly goes to Happy Forest
This is way more than just an animal park, although with its 150 animals from kangaroos to parrots its credentials are impressive for this alone. 

But it really gets the number one spot for having a range of additional activities to make a fun filled action packed day out. 
There is a treetop, go-ape style adventure park where you can get a birds eye view of the forest plus laser quest, escape games, pony rides, a maze and a snack bar.

Open all year round and located only 40 minutes from Las Cabanes, it's a great day out for all the family.

 

  • 2. Z'ANIMOLAND

A very close second and only just pipped at the post is Z’animoland. 

Located only 25 minutes away this fabulously shady animal park is a real local gem. With animals from goats that roam through to the more exotic, like tigers, rescued from a Romanian circus, it’s a wonderful place for kids to get up close and personal with the animals. With the added benefit of a snack bar, water slides, inflatables, trampolines to bounce on and pedal Karts to ride it's a truly entertaining day.

 

In third place is the magic cauldron “Le chaudron magique”, the closest of the three, only a 15 minute drive away.

This is an organic farm specialising in Angora goats, goats cheese, cereal and bread production where you can really get involved with feeding the baby goats, visiting the animals like black pigs and rabbits as well as mohair, cheese and bread making. There's a shop selling their range of products too as well as a picnic area. The highlight for our kids was definitely bottle feeding the many, very hungry baby goats.
